A post on Blizzard’s official forums from the Diablo team reads, “We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing. We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year.” While it’s promising to learn that there are more Diablo games in the pipeline, fans will have to remain patient as to exactly when the projects are unveiled and when it comes to seeing them in action. With 2018 now in its final month, though, perhaps Blizzard will reveal one or more of these projects in early 2019.

It’s worth noting that Blizzard already confirmed that the long awaited Diablo 4 is being worked on, so the aforementioned statement simply feels like a repeat of what it said several weeks ago in the aftermath of Diablo Immortal’s announcement at BlizzCon. However, it is a little more concrete now due to the fact that it affirms that these projects will be announced throughout 2019. The use of the word “projects”, though, could be implying things other than games, like the rumored anime based on the series.

While it makes sense for Blizzard to hold off on revealing anything until it actually has something to show, it doesn’t seem to have been enough to placate players. Many comments from fans show that they are still frustrated with the lack of details, calling Blizzard’s statement “more PR rhetoric” and accusing the company of not caring about the Diablo community. All of this harsh criticism, however, doesn’t seem to be deterring Blizzard’s stance on mobile titles any time soon, as it has already made plans to make mobile titles for all of its IPs.

Diablo Immortal is set to release on Android and iOS, but it currently has no release date.
