Part of such farming in Diablo Immortal lie in Hidden Lairs, or special areas in select zones that serve as mini-raids for players and their teams can farm from time to time. Compared to regular dungeons, these Hidden Lairs often have special rewards in store for players. However, to those who want to farm and get stronger, just what is the best way to approach Hidden Lairs?

What Are Hidden Lairs?

Before players get into the specifics of finding Hidden Lairs, it may help to learn what they are first. At its core, Hidden Lairs are special dungeons scattered throughout various areas that open at random intervals. Compared to other special raids and events, Hidden Lairs periodically reopen and give players opportunities to repeat exploring them. Here are some things players may need to note when trying to locate them:

Popup indicator: When the message “A Hidden Lair has opened in this zone” appears, this means players can try to look for Hidden Lairs in the area. Disguise themselves in the environment: Depending on the zone players are located in, the Hidden Lair entrances in these areas adjust based on the fixtures surrounding them. Unless they are activated, players may not be able to spot them or interact with them. Normal Gem rewards: Accomplishing Hidden Lairs will reward players with Normal Gems, which are helpful trinkets that they could use to improve Secondary Gear such as Gloves, Boots, Belts, and Rings - helpful for builds like the Cyclone Srike Monk. Players can get up to six (6) Normal Gems every day when doing Hidden Lairs. Zone Achievements: Some Zone Achievements in the game are only accomplished when doing Hidden Lairs, so players may want to periodically do them in each zone. Despawn Time: After the popup announcement, select Hidden Lairs despawn after 10 Minutes, so players need to find them quickly.

What Happens In Hidden Lairs?

Similar to other dungeons and raids, a Hidden Lair in Diablo Immortal acts like a typical instanced location. This means the steps to finishing a Hidden Lair zone is quite similar to how players may farm other zones. Here are some general tips:

Finish objectives: Aside from defeating the main boss, each Hidden Lair does offer various objectives for players to finish. These include finishing certain tasks, delivering items, killing groups of enemies, or even heading straight for the boss. Get to a lower level: After clearing the main Hidden Lair, there’s a chance for the game to spawn an orange portal that leads to a lower level with tougher foes. Doing so may give players the opportunity to get better rewards at the risk fo fighting stronger opponents, perfect for practicing broken Diablo Immortal builds. Get rewards: Aside from Normal Gems, Hidden Lair bosses do have the chance of dropping decent loot for players to get. Make sure these are all gathered first before exiting the portal that appears to finally clear the stage.

How To Find Hidden Lairs?

Aside from the fact that players need to wait for the popup message to know that a Hidden Lair is activated in the area, they also have to scour said zone in order to locate the entrance to the Lair. This can be quite the tricky task for Diablo Immortal players who don’t know where to go and how to proceed, especially considering how large certain areas could get. However, players may be able to find them through the following methods:

Familiarize with the locations: One of the best ways to find Hidden Lairs is to familiarize oneself with the locations of the Lairs first. If doing this without a map guide, players can opt to skip focusing on clearing the Hidden Lair and instead try to look for the Lair in the area and making a mental note of the location. All Hidden Lair locations stay the same, but the game randomly activates some of them throughout the course of a day’s playthrough. . Create a team: Players interested in clearing Hidden Lairs may have better luck finding them faster with a full party of people who also want to clear them. That way, multiple players can look for Hidden Lairs in any particular zone, and have the team get to them much faster without using up the entirety of the 10-minute timer. This is only applicable from Hell 1 difficulty onwards.

Dark Wood: 10 Hidden Lairs

The dark forests of the Dark Wood have 10 Hidden Lairs, all relatively scattered throughout the area. Players need a bit of exploration to encounter all the entrances, and it’s recommended they do so in a looping pattern, going left to Sanguine Ruins and down to the Blood Rose Waypoint, circling back to Captain Shadura’s location and going east to the Forgotten Tower Waypoint and downward from there. Entrances to Hidden Lairs in the Dark Wood look like broken stone altars. While they don’t necessarily contain Diablo Immortal Legendary Gems, these areas are still fit for general farming. Here are the locations of the other Lairs:

Sanguine Ruins (2): There are two (2) entrances here, one just near Channa the Merciless’s spawn point and the other to the northern edge. Blood Rose Waypoint (2): There are another two (2) here, one just along the Waypoint and another close to where Vampire Blooms spawn, just to the corridor leading to Cursed Grove. Forgotten Tower (2): There are two (2) Hidden Lairs here, one close to the Forgotten Tower Entrance, and another to the far right close to Kodi and the Ravenous Wolves. Tree of Inifus (1): There is one (1) Lair near the Tree of Inifus Waypoint. Derelict Timberyard (2): There are two (2) entrances in the Derelict Timberyard, one on each edge of the area. Blackstone Village (1): There is one (1) entrance north of Blackstone Village, near the northernmost-corner of that area in the map.

Ashwold Cemetery: 18 Hidden Lairs

The Ashwold Cemetery has 18 Hidden Lairs, which is the most to appear in any one zone in the game. They are arranged densely compared to other zones, which means players may want to move around the main roads of the area in order to identify them. Hidden Lairs in the area look like entrances to mausoleums, which would glow once they are activated as Lairs. Here are the locations of the entrances:

Ashwold Manor (4): One is located near the exit to the Lord’s Rest, and the two mausoleums behind the statue of the Haunted Carriage. There is one right before the entrance to the Eastern Gardens. Eastern Gardens (2): There is one to the northeast corner near Gatekeeper Wulf, and another to the southwest corner. The Outskirs (1): There is one entrance located near Morgan the Tooth in the middle corridor. The Ossuary (8): Containing the most entrances, the Ossuary has eight Hidden Lairs in clusters. One is to the north of Shazat’s spawn point, while the others line up on the right side and ends inside the corridor where players can circle back to the Manor.

Shassar Sea: 9 Hidden Lairs

Similar to the Dark Wood, finding the Hidden Lairs in the Shassar Sea could prove to be a bit tricky due to the looping nature of touring to get them. It’s ideal that players go north to the Chamber of Sacrifice and loop down towards the Lacuni Incursion, access the middle of the map via the Chamber of Wisdom and go close to the Library of Zolutn Kulle. Its Hidden Lairs are disguised as small square altars. Here are the locations of its etntrances:

Windswept Ruins (1): There is one (1) Lair in the Windswept Ruins, just north of the Westmarch entrance and close to the Scepter of Desire. Chamber of Sacrifice (2): There are two (2) Lairs when heading to the Chamber of Sacrifice, one to the left-most side of the non-named area and another one north of the “Chamber of Sacrifice” name in the map. Lacuni Incursion (2): There is one (1) Lair near the Encampment close to Lacuni’s Incursion, and another below the Perpetual Glass. Chamber of Wisdom (1): There is one (1) Lair to the left of the Chamber of Wisdom. Middle Area (2): Along the middle area are two (2) Lairs, one to the south and one to the north going to the corridor near the Library. Library Proper (1): Prior to the gateway to the Library of Zoltun Kulle is an unnamed area, and there is another Hidden Lair to its northernmost section.

The Library Of Zoltun Kulle: 8 Hidden Lairs

Despite the vastness of the Library of Zoltun Kulle, it barely has any Hidden Lairs compared to other zones in the map. Similar to the Shassar Sea, the Lairs in the Horadric site are disguised as stone square altars, albeit larger in appearance. The optimal path here is to loop from either direction, as both sides of the Library have an almost equal number of Lairs. Here are the locations of those altars:

Grand Vestibule Waypoint (1): There is one (1) Lair to the left of the Grand Vestibule Waypoint, south of the location of Makanoth. Archive of Secrets (4): There are four (4) Lairs scattered across the Archive of Secrets, particularly in its long corridor. The center location of the map has one (1) to its southeast corner, and another in the southwest corner of the room left of that. Going to the right, there is one (1) to the southeast corner of the room right of the center area, and another one (1) in the rightmost section of the room right of that. Forbidden Archive Waypoint (1): The area south of the Forbidden Archive Waypoint has one (1) Lair to its rightmost area. Hydra (1): There is one (1) Lair to the south of the Hydra’s location, in the south section of its right room. Writhing Ingress (1): There is one (1) Lair in the Writhing Ingress, just close to its entrance.

Bilefen: 8 Hidden Lairs

Lairs in the rainy marshes of Bilefen are scattered to its northern areas. Given the map’s straightforward nature, fans can safely explore the zone for lairs on a circular fashion. Lairs here are disguised as rock clusters that lead to an entrance. Here are the locations of the Lairs in Bilefen:

Southern Wetlands Waypoint (3): Coming from the Port Justinian Waypoint, players can head south and find two (2) Lairs near the entrance and exit of the corridor leading to the Southern Wetlands Waypoint, respectively. There is also another one (1) directly north of the Waypoint. Hermit’s Outpost (1): There is one (1) Lair located just at the entrance of the Hermit’s Outpost. Abandoned VIllage Waypoint (6): There is a cluster of Lairs just north of the Port Justinian Waypoint, almost lined up north of the Abandoned Village Waypoint. There is one (1) in the Northern Wetlands, two (2) in the Infested Quagmire, and three (3) in the Abandoned Village.

Mount Zavain: 6 Hidden Lairs

The mixture of mountains and plains in Mount Zavain make for perfect locations of various Hidden Lairs, of which there are six (6) scattered across the map. They are disguised well near rocky formations, which players can easily explore by touring the location from south to north. Here are the locations of the Lairs in Mount Zavain:

Soul Crucible (1): From the Westmarch entrance, players can go northeast to the Refuge of Damnation and go slightly north to the area just below the Soul Crucible. There is one (1) Lair here, near the spawn points of Pedron and Kaleb the Crimson. Zakarum Graveyard (4): Coming from the Misty Valley, players can head north and find four (4) Lairs lined up in the Zakarum Graveyard. There is one (1) close to its entrance, and three (3) to its right edges. Upper Terrace (1): Players can head north and go to the right of the Upper Terrace, close to the spawn point of Joshu the Clam, and find one (1) Lair.

Frozen Tundra: 6 Hidden Lairs

When players eventually overcome the colds of the Frozen Tundra, they may be able to find six (6) Hidden Lairs here. Disguised among the few trees and the roaring blizzard, these Lairs are decently scattered across the map and may be located by circling the location either clockwise or counter-clockwise from Mount Zakarum. Here are the locations of the Lairs:

Abandoned Village (1): There is one (1) Lair located north of the Abandoned Village, close to the edge of that part of the map. Ruins of Escheron (3): There are two (2) Lairs located below the Ruins of Escheron, just along its southern entrance. There is another one (1) to its northern exit, just to the right of Marellak’s spawn point and below Zamaka’s. Barbarian Graveyard (1): There is one (1) Lair located just above the Barbarian Graveyard, along the Waypoint. Everfrost Lake (1): There is one (1) Lair to the far right of the Everfrost Lake, in the ege of that part of the map.

Realm Of Damnation: 10 Hidden Lairs

When players once again get to work to finish off the remnants of the Burning Hells in the Realm of Damnation, so too could they explore its many Hidden Lairs. This game zone has 10 Hidden Lairs, disguised as demonic altars. Players can find two (2) of these lairs on the bottom portion of the map on its northeastern and northwestern edges, while the rest are on the upper portion which players can easily find during exploration. Here are the specific locations of these Lairs:

Forest of Misery (1): One (1) Lair is located along the leftmost side of the map area where the “F” in the “Forest of Misery” is located. Plains of Torment (1): There is one (1) Lair located to the north of the last “T” in the “Torment” in the area, at just the edge of the map. Hellfire Core (1): There is one (1) Lair to the corridor just south of the Hellfire Core area. Hall of Punishment (1): There is one (1) Lair on the corridor directly south of the Hall of Punishment. Yaan (2): Players can go to Yaan’s spawn point, and from there is one (1) Lair to the left at the end of the large room, and another one (1) at the end of the small room to the right. Hall of Punishment (1): There is one (1) Lair to the rightmost side of the map, just east of the Hall of Punishment Waypoint. Molten Egress (3): There is one (1) Lair to the right of the spawn point of Ululatros, one (1) below the Toll of Flames, and another one in the northmost area of the map beside the Pit of Anguish entrance.
