As seen in the screenshot below, there are currently three different BlizzCon items in the Blizzard Gear Store that potentially make reference to a new Diablo game, as each have the same phrase in their titles that reads, “Reign of Terror”. The merchandise in question includes a men’s shirt, a women’s shirt, and a poster that features a portrait shot of The Dark Lord himself. However, while the products’ descriptions reference “Reign of Terror”, the objects themselves lack the phrase on them.

As it so happens, Blizzard has already revealed that BlizzCon 2018 will feature a panel focusing on Diablo, with fans urged to “Join the Diablo team as they discuss of what’s in store for the heroes of Sanctuary.” With this being the case, a new game reveal in the series could be in the cards, and it quite possibly could be subtitled Reign of Terror. Of course, this is simply conjecture at this point in time.

While some may be quick to argue that the fresh BlizzCon 2018 items for Diablo don’t necessarily confirm that a fourth installment will be announced at the event or at all, it’s worth noting that talks of another sequel have been mighty prevalent as of late. For instance, a job listing from several months ago directly referenced that Blizzard is looking for qualified Artists, Animators, and Engineers to assist in the development of a “new, unannounced Diablo project.”

So, taking all of this into consideration, it will definitely be interesting to see if Blizzard decides to save the big bombshell reveal of Diablo 4 for this year’s BlizzCon, and if the phrase “Reign of Terror” has any bearing on its being. Thankfully, there are only a few short weeks left until we find out.

Diablo 4 has not been officially announced.
