Within the new gameplay footage for Diablo 4, fans got a closer look at a lot of the game’s latest class and some details around the new PvP elements. Beginning with the Necromancer in Diablo 4, it seems that players taking on this class will have a lot of customization in how they want to take on their enemies. They can summon three different types of skeletons, from the traditional undead warriors, to mages, to giant golems. Each of these three summons have three of their own specializations as well, so there seems to be a lot of potential for tweaking a Necromancer to fit a certain playstyle.

However, the Necromancer doesn’t just rely on summoning skeletal allies in Diablo 4. In the new game, it will have four major play styles for players to pick from, using traditional bone spells players of Diablo 2 will be familiar with, alongside blood magic and harnessing the powers of darkness. The class mechanic for the Necromancer in Diablo 4 is called the Book of the Dead, and it is what allows players to create their own undead army to match the way they want to play.
Moving on from the Necromancer, the Diablo 4 gameplay gives fans a closer look at some PvP elements they’ll be able to experience in the game. Diablo 4’s PvP will allow players to run into each other in the game’s world during play and fight one another for some in-game rewards. Due to Diablo 4 being a game that requires a constant online connection, it is likely players will be running into other player characters often.
There seems to be plenty of incentive for players to take down others in Diablo 4, as the game will place a bounty on those who are particularly skilled at PvP combat. This means that taking down a player with multiple kills will earn a better reward than just taking down another random player. There are other online elements for players in Diablo 4 as well, such as cosmetic DLC and expansions, which fans will likely see in the months and years following its launch.
Diablo 4 will launch in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
