Unfortunately, the Spider Cavern can be tricky to spot in the new boggy jungle environment of Act 3. Keeping an eye on the minimap can help a little, but not much. It’s one of the biggest fixes Diablo 2: Resurrected needs, as having a better minimap could make quests more streamlined. This guide will tell players where to find the Spider Cavern and where to avoid.
Updated on December 22nd, 2021 by Hodey Johns: Finding a location in a randomly generated area is always going to be a bit tricky. There isn’t any tip like “check the boulder in the southwest” or “look for the bright blue map marker” that will come up. Part of the fun (and anguish) of Diablo 2: Resurrected is finding areas, secrets, and treasures that are in different places every time. To help with this search, the guide has been broken down into three parts: tips on how to find the Spider Cavern, hints on how to know if heading in the wrong direction, and what to do if it’s getting too hard to find the needle in the haystack.
What To Look For
The Spider Cavern is sometimes easy to locate, but for the most part, it’s a nightmare. This is because all of the areas in Diablo 2: Resurrected are randomly generated each play session. So the cavern will never be in the exact same location. It will, however, always be in the Spider Forest area. This is the jungle location found beside Act 3’s town area, the Kurast Docks. What makes the cavern so hard to locate is the way the jungle map is laid out, and how big the Spider Forest location is.

Players are searching for a cave opening surrounded by spider webs on the ground. The monsters in the area might be a little harder than players are used to, so make sure to make the most out of mercenaries in Diablo 2: Resurrected and hire one to help with combat.
Go to the gameplay options from the main menu and select the minimap to display in the middle of the screen while exploring large, open areas. The small purple line that indicates the entrance to a named location is more visible this way. It’s also easier to spot where players haven’t explored yet.
What To Avoid
Do not search for Khalim’s Eye in the similarly sounding Arachnid Lair. This will lead to a dead-end, and waste more time. It may seem like the correct cavern isn’t spawning, but it’s probably just in a difficult-to-navigate area. Make sure all of the small pathways and bridges have been explored, turning back if the game announces that the player is leaving the Spider Forest.

Unlike many of the game’s areas, this is not a special location that is crossed into. Checking the perimeter of the Spider Forest is a wise move to start so that players can establish the area the cavern is in, but it’s likely in the center and not the outside. Don’t let a tendency to hug the outside walls ruin the playthrough.
Resetting The Session
If players still can’t find it after this, save and exit the game, then load back in to create a new random Spider Forest map, and new Spider Cavern location. Don’t worry, doing this won’t force players to battle against the game’s toughest bosses all over again.
This can speed up the process somewhat significantly, remember to use the starting area and take the waypoint directly to the Spider Forest. A fresh start should be all that players need to find it on the second try. For those feeling particularly impatient, feel free to keep resetting the session until the cavern is close to the waypoint.
Diablo 2: Resurrected was released on September 23rd, 2021, and is available for PC, PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
