Following the holiday break, the Devil May Cry Twitter account has started posting new details of the Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe Edition. Kicking off back on December 21, game director Hideaki Itsuno has put together a series of tips, tricks, and behind the scenes looks at the upcoming action game. Yesterday, the third iteration of this series revealed a new teaser trailer showing off live-action cutscenes that deluxe edition owners are going to be seeing on their version of the game.

The short, 19-second trailer is off the wall bonkers as it mixes in some laugh out loud low budget CGI elements including a tiny cardboard van being pulled by a string and a giant object being thrust out of the stomach of a man dressed up as a boss character. While clearly intended to be cheesy, one commenter pointed out that the footage may, in fact, be live action storyboard content intended for use by the animators so they have a better understanding of what the scene they’re working on should look like.

Previous developer notes showed off special EX colors for Nero’s expert crafter, Nico Goldstein, that can be unlocked after pre-ordering any version of the game. These can be adjusted on the fly at any time from the options menu and give Nico a different color pattern from her usual brown hair and yellow jacket. Itsuno also revealed a bit more information about V along with some new combat gameplay. Players can control and attack simultaneously with V’s pet demons even while taking damage. However, once they have an enemy near death, it’ll be up to the player to land the finishing blow with V’s cane.

Devil May Cry 5 is currently scheduled to release on March 8, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
