Through the official Deus Ex: Human Revolution site and various forms of social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) the developers leaked more info and users were able to find the secret website, 13311TOWER.COM. Through a sound file with Morse code and a hidden login prompt on the Belltower website, fans had almost found all the clues when the official site’s RSS feed spilled the beans that this was leading to info on the first DLC for Human Revolution.
Seemingly titled ‘The Missing Link,’ the additional downloadable content for Deus Ex: Human Revolution would provide players with an entirely new environment and a tricky situation for protagonist Adam Jensen that takes place during the story of the main game, and not afterward. The following bit comes from the RSS feed reveal:
Undoubtedly, this moment in time when Jensen “vanishes” for three days refers to the SPOILER part in the game when in order to escape the Belltower dock after a certain explosion, Jensen hops in a cryo-pod inside a freighter cargo container, which takes him to the Omega Ranch biotech lab facility in Singapore. He’s in transit for three days and no one knows where Jensen is.
Producer David Anfossi later explained that the new content would see players playing an Adam Jensen who’s missing his augmentations, but teaming up with new allied characters. The official site reveals the following description of the DLC:
We don’t yet know the location or “hub” where the The Missing Link will take place but Australia was mentioned in the clues. There were also a few locations/hubs that were originally planned to be in DX:HR but were scrapped because of the amount of work - these included Montreal, India and upper Heng Sha.
After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected. As Adam, befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution!
-New layers of conspiracy unveiled
-Sprawling new environments
-Brand-new characters to interact with
-Rebuild Adam’s augmentation set from scratch. Build up a brand new Adam!
‘The Missing Link’ DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution becomes available next month on all platforms.
